PORT-CIMTOGO ROAD SECTION CLOSED AGAIN FOR REPAIRS IN TOGO

The portion of National Road 2 (Lomé-Aného) between the Port roundabout and Cimtogo has been closed to traffic again since Monday January 8 at 11 p.m. This section was temporarily reopened at the end of last year, during the holiday period.

This new closure aims to allow the continuation of the work started a few weeks ago and to complete the covering of the track, indicated Zouréhatou Kassah-Traoré, the Togolese minister responsible for public works.

Over the next two weeks, traffic will be diverted to the second carriageway at this location. The authorities call on users to scrupulously respect the road signs put up on either side of the critical point.

As a reminder, the work on this section of road follows a subsidence of the roadway last October, causing disruptions on the Lomé-Aného section. Initial findings revealed that the rupture was caused by a nozzle water collector built in the 1960s, which crosses the road at a depth of around 3 meters.
